Here is the first in what i hope to be many versions of IWBTG! the Official Walkthrough~Neodrakan

With it Being Ver.1.0 and everything, and not even being the complete Guide,I decided to keep it as one giant map for now. With As little "spoilers" visible on the map as possible, and even some of the Boss Rooms are kept a secret. With Later Versions of this guide,i plan on including a fully detailed Step by Step or Screen by Screen walkthrough detailing as much info as you should need to know(Cherry falls up here,Apple falls down here, etc.)and a few other nifty sketches and such.So here it is,in Low Res Version

(http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/5035/iwbtgmg2.th.jpg) (http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=iwbtgmg2.jpg)
------------------
Version 1.0 is done on "Medium" Difficulty to show all available Save Points**Expect to see ALOT of these saved points removed if played on a higher difficulty**

Screens That have a "Boss Thumbnail" on the Upper Left Handside are rooms that indicate that a Boss is Dwelling there OR around the general area

After Destroying Dracula,You shall be warped 1 room to the left of the "Castle Gates" or the Right Hand side of the "Fan Room"
------------------

That's awesome. I also made a map about a week ago. Might be a little late for me. :P

Well, here it is. It's a lot smaller than your map, but I added the bosses too.

I like Havanese's map. It's well put-together and in my opinion more properly represents the world. Heck, with some adjustments it actually looks like it could be pieced together like a puzzle.

Of course, that's how world maps are usually supposed to work.

Either way, any effort to make IWBTG's world map gets kudos from me.

Poster, yes.

T-shirt? You'd get so many confused looks on the street, you'd feel like there was a spotlight on you.

If you're walking down the street with a shirt showing the map of a game, yeah, you'd feel pretty good getting dirty eyes.

I was thinking that the other day. Super Metroid isn't THE best game ever, but it's definitely in the top 5, if not the top 3.

At least with a SM shirt, you would meet new friends. :p

That is a secret area holding one of the six secret items.  Someone ought to update the 'Game Over' room part of the complete map of the entire game to compensate for the secret item locations.

I know. By silly I meant those really awesome-game-breaking SBs. If you get SJ first, pretty much the whole game is broken. You can do most of the things out of order, skip Hive Mecha, skip Morph Ball boss...

I recall SM having a sequence break that lets you get to Lower Norfair near the beginning of the game. If you have enough energy tanks, you can probably get to Ridley.

Ok, I don't know WHY whoever it was deleted it, since it's relevant, but there is a secret room that you missed in the Metroid area.  Click Spoiler for info.

: show
(http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/4222/secretroomcm3.th.jpg) (http://img82.imageshack.us/my.php?image=secretroomcm3.jpg)

I noticed that if you spent too much time idling in the area before you got to Metroid, a Metroid enemy would eventually appear.  Once in the first part of the actual Metroid area, I saw that if you wait about 15 seconds or so, that enemy will eventually come out of the wall.  The enemies in that secret room will freeze if you shoot them once.  The right two high enemies are only there to kill you, so just freeze them.  You need to freeze the lower enemy once it's on the left of the platform, then make platforms by freezing the last two enemies.  Once you get close to the edge, Samus will come out in her Morph Ball and shoot out to where you came in.  The red ball holds a weapon.

If you'd like, I could post more screens of the room.  Just don't delete it again, since this is a legitimate post.

I've started making a map - got all of the route through the Graveyard up to Mecha Birdo. Haven't beaten the boss yet on this run to carry on. I suppose I could just use my existing save, but that's gonna be inconsistent...

Oh, and since on it I'm trying to mark the difficulties at which various saves appear, can anyone list which saves are available on Very Hard for me?

I'm using Photoshop, though it takes a while to save and load. Otherwise it's fine.
It's better now I've put entire sections on the same layer rather than one for each room.

Alright, owing to the sheer size of the picture it's zipped. There's a megabyte there, and it's only half the size of the full thing.
The map contains all rooms before the cart ride, including secret item rooms (although not the items themselves).
Here is the link. (http://h1.ripway.com/Tenebrais/IWannaBeTheMap.zip) If anyone can point out which saves are from Very Hard, I'd appreciate it. As it is, saves from Medium only are coloured pink and Hard and Medium are coloured red. Those available in Very Hard will be green. I appreciate that the difference between the pink and red saves isn't that easy to spot.

I've never seen the area beneath where you start, with the megaman boss selected screen..
never seen it, how do i get there?
Title: Re: IWBTG! Full Map V.1.0
Post by: Tenebrais on March 05, 2008, 05:35:14 pm
From the start:
Go down to the lower level, hang right to dodge the spike wall. Do the same on the next level, hanging left. At the bottom of the screen, dash left rather than stick to the 'safe' zone and the wall won't trigger. If you're on Medium, you can save.
Drop down, there's a spike wobbling on the left. Shoot it and double-jump, you'll land on the flat side as a platform. A bunch of platforms will appear and disappear in a sequence, just follow them. Eventually they'll take you to the exit and the Megaman screen.

Okay, going from the
Upper path:
1st save remains
Save in room before Tyson remains
Save next to pool remains
Save in screen above spike corridor remains
Save after Birdo's orb remains
Save at start of Castlevania area remains
Save at Warp where bosses appear in background remains
Path through RoDT:
Save after tetris room remains
Save in first cave room remains
Save before Kraidgief remains
Save at start of factory remains
Save directly before BWW remains
First save in Metroid area remains
both saves remain at bottom of Guy Industries
Save before appearing/disappearing blocks remains
Save after appearing/disappearing blocks remains
Save in room where 6 turrets fall in groups of 3 down left side of screen remains

That SHOULD be right. I need to check x_X

I've got it hosted in JPG (http://h1.ripway.com/Tenebrais/IWannaBeTheMapv2JPG.zip) and PNG (http://h1.ripway.com/Tenebrais/IWannaBeTheMapv2PNG.zip), the latter being much bigger but clearer.

Okay, fixed those saves. I've also cleaned up the area before Mecha Birdo to remove spoilers. Anyone spot any other errors before I release the next version?

As a side-note, I'm debating with myself whether to map the cart ride. I think it's possible, but it'll be damn tedious.

The first map isn't showing up for me for some reason.  :-\ It's just an X. >__>

You're not the first to tell me that.  Hmmm... I think it's because it's such a huge picture.  Try right-clicking and saving/downloading it that way to view it on your computer.

I did have one that was a smaller file size, but I really wanted to offer a map that showed every detail, y'know?  If you'd like to request a smaller one for convenience, don't hesitate to ask.  i can upload another one for you :)

Please let me know if I missed any screens.

Also, these maps are not designed to show you all the traps.  They're simply for navigation.  I did my best to show the screens as they would appear when you first see them (with a few exceptions).  They did take quite a bit of work, so I really hope you all appreciate them :)

One more thing.  I was also considering creating a grid/coordinate system for my maps.  Y'know, with letters and numbers, so that one could easily point out a particular screen by saying something like "i am really having trouble getting past the spikes on E7", or "YES!  I finally got through G12!!"  What do you think?  Probably overkill... heh

Each room practically has a name.  And since the game is sectioned off and easily identifiable (unless you've never played those types of games :P), co-ordinate mapping really isn't necessary.

Not saying its a bad idea or anything. :)

True.  For those of us who are familiar enough with the game and have communicated a bit with others who are familiar with it, we can easily tell what parts we might be talking about... I guess I was just thinking about people who are very new to the game.  In fact, when I read about people talking about the "Spike corridor" after the zelda screen, I wasn't sure what they were talking about for a while... Then when I remembered that the Ghosts n Goblins part was after zelda, I knew EXACTLY what ridiculous spike corridor they were referring to!  Damn that thing!  I hate it!   :spikes:

Vertigo, you have done awesome making that map. I'd love it if you would add minecart and the Guy's palace.

Does any of you know the way to add more areas to those maps? like area next to Game Over room and stuff. I've found the area below Dracula's throne room, It's pretty cool. All you have to do is to be able to do as many air-jumps as you want.

: show
This is easily done with any program, like Cheat Engine.

Although I certainly don't recommend to use CE or some other program if you havent beaten the game yet. It's total cheating.

Bosses are nice to defeat with limitless jumps. Do this AFTER you beat the game.

I'm using it extremely rarely. There are also bad sides, you have to put the code again after you die, so it's really just for jumping around. It can be cool for 15 minutes.

And wut, clouds go 1 area upwards?? below game over room, and above the way to Tyson? :S

Title: Complete world map
Post by: NoBsReviews on June 30, 2008, 07:36:39 pm
This is a complete world map for version 1.0.0, revision B2.4, constructed entirely from original screenshots.
No screens are left out aside from some out-of-bounds ones that you probably aren't supposed to see.
Screens are fitted together exactly the way they actually appear in the game; the arrows indicate teleportation between large areas.
Unfortunately, trying to show the entire game results in an absurdly large image that won't open with anything. Therefore, the image is scaled down to 50%.

If it's still too big to open, try this even smaller version:

Enjoy!

It should work now, or I need to find an image host that doesn't suck.

Quantum drive.  First game where I actually jumped when a space pirate leaped out.
Quite fun, I might add.  Giant pirate brute?  Heck yes.
