okok for real this time

TIL the people of Kaplan don't know how to edit their products.

So, I was doing some ACT preparation, mostly focusing on the math portion because, despite it being my best subject and it always being my best subject, I can never seem to finish the math section of any test similar to this. I came to a section of trigonometric functions, which I feel I know well enough, and on one page I find:

Quote
The ration of the lengths of the sides of a right triangle is 2 : sqrt(5) : 3. What is the cosine of the smallest angle in the triangle?

to which I answered with sqrt(5)/3; the explanation of the problem says:

Quote
The cosine of any angle equals the length of the hypotenuse/adjacent.

...That's the secant of any angle; nevertheless, despite this mistake, they still said the same answer as I said.

...But wait, it gets worse! The next question on the same page says:

Quote
In right triangle ABC, sin i = 3/5 and cos i < 0. What is the value of csc i?

Now, first of all, there's one thing the people of Kaplan missed about the question itself: you can't have a negative length for the side of a triangle. Ignoring this mistake, I find -5/3...and that isn't an answer choice; 5/3 was, so I chose that. Now, the explanation of the problem says:

Quote
Cosecant is hypotenuse/adjacent, or in this case -5/4.

...what the fuck? First of all, that's, once again, secant, and second of all, that also isn't the answer to what the question asked, which, with the way it was worded, actually had no correct answer given.

What baffles me even more about this is that they actually got it correct in the introduction to this concept on the previous page, which I only noticed after looking back to make sure they had it correct there, and sure enough they did. You want to know what I think of this?

I mean, I'm only in Pre-Calculus at the moment, so I have a lot more to learn, but with everything that's been taught so far this year I haven't had any trouble understanding at all.

I sometimes wonder why people don't understand mathematical concepts until they have it beat over their head more frequently than rule 5 is actually carried out, but I guess people just aren't accustomed to it as well as others.

I'm in precalc but I've been able to teach myself how to do basic differention and integration, albeit only with polynomials

Semester 1 of precalc was entirely review of algebra 2, but now we're doing trig stuff and its actually at a pace I need to keep up with.

I used to be pretty shitty at math too, and after getting a concussion in 8th grade was so bad I was required to take basically a remedial math class in addition to algebra 1 freshman year. But at the end of 8th grade somehow it just all clicked and everything made sense and I was bored out of my mind in the makeup class bable to easily test out of it by the end of the semester.

That's subjective.
Well, it has a 0.0 in delicious fruit and it's literally unplayable, it has no production value, a stupid version of the default yuuutu edition.

Post by: infern0man1 on February 03, 2016, 06:05:01 pm
Believe me, just because others say it's completely unplayable, it doesn't mean there aren't worse games. Of course, I haven't actually played the game, and I don't want to either, but there are some games that I feel are several times worse than what's offered in the default screens in yuuutu's engine.

Don't always trust what others say on DelFruit, either; there is a saddening amount of people who only go on there to completely bash games they only saw other people play and dislike, most of the time basing their opinions off of people who look at the game for about 5 seconds before closing it and going on a rant for the next 5 minutes about how atrocious the game was and how everyone who plays and likes it is a dumbass.

If you have given the game a legitimate attempt and thought it to be absolutely horrendous, then your opinion actually has support, which by all means is completely fine; however, if you haven't so much as given it an attempt and state that it's unplayable based off of what other people have said, then your opinion is kind of empty.

this.

the fact that people just bandwagon on hate, blindly, is what makes the base so shitty imo

I would have to say that IWBT My heart goes on is probably the most overrated troll fangame existing today; there really isn't anything special about it at all, it's just been glorified by the few big shots in the fangame community to such an extent than everyone chooses to say the same about it, which I think is ridiculous. I spend a lot of time in the games I've been creating recently, and no one pays attention to them and even bash on them mostly because the stuff I made back in 2013 and 2014 was awful, even though I myself have recognized my errors from that time and have striven to avoid them; however, everyone thinks stuff like that abysmal piece of shit is the best thing to ever happen to video games

Also, sorry for the long posts about fangames, I just get irked when people talk about the stuff that doesn't really deserve to be talked about at all.
