Title: I Wanna Be The Engine! (mmf2) [r1]
Post by: sgt.D on June 30, 2009, 05:55:03 am
I hope it will help .
I made an engine for mmf2 as tiji did for game maker.
I know that my engine is maybe not as good as the one of tiji but english isn't my first language.
It takes me time so i hope it will be helpful. :)

NEW UPDATE

-Save file aren't .ini anymore but array : the save cannot be cheated and it's now exactly the same saving engine as in iwbtg.
-Jump gravity limit fixed
-Horizontal moving platform added

I like it, as you said it has some flaws like jumping a little too high and falling somehow feels too slow ;) otherwise it's great, thank you very much will use and modify it for my game

HOLY CRAP!
Sorry but the jumping and falling is not "good" and the "maker" screen is realy confused
Try to make it with PMO....it's realy easier and more understandable

-.-
It's said in the .pdf file that the jump and the falling are custom made and i show how to modify them to make them as you wish ...
this isn't a game it's just a way to show you how could seems like iwbtg's codes on mmf2 . . .

But in fact i must say that the gravity limit is a bit too short.

I created IWBTE in MMF2 too...but using platform movement (more understandable), but only scrolling isn't good :(

looks good but i still prefer my engine =) Altough i don't think that my screen is more confusing than yours : the only difference is that in my scrren there is lot of apples and so i need lots of detector : you have one trap so 1 detector ( in this point our "confusing rate" is the same :)
I noticed that
-you haven't created saving. ( ? )
-When you stand on the invisible blocks the kid moves strangely

saving isn't problem
make only ini object set name
in events make event "if bullet colission with save then INI file save object "player"" and second -> if Frame Starting (Start of Frame) then INI file load object "player"....you are complete...easy? right?
but problem is -> if you are save position on second screen you will see after restart first screen again :)

Saving doesn't work if you close the application and then open it up again.

Also can move to game design plz?

Guess this means by Savefile DLL goes in Game Design too then. At least I won't have to bump it as often here.

This seems like it's a good idea, but what is it used for exactly?
