Sweet engine, I like it a lot actually. I personally would have set "shift" for jump and "z" for shoot as default, but it's not very hard to switch around. I would consider posting it on the http://iwannacommunity.com/forum/ forums since most of the community has moved on over there.

You're misreading my message. I wrote that I wanted to give him some pointers on what he needs to improve.
I didn't have time to give a full critism and gave him some pointers on what I think he should try improve on and then that's it. I'm assuming here that Keygrin can do the research and learn about these subjects since I felt they were lacking from the game.

In that case, what I should have said was "Don't say 'I can't give criticism on it' when you mean 'I can't give criticism on it right now."

Though you're still being vague as fuck. Again, specifics help (unless you want to run the risk of the recipient of the criticism misreading your message as well).

Sure, i'm vague as fuck, I'll take it.

The game isn't brilliant and overall it's not very good. But I did feel some charm and personality here so you definitely worked hard on this.

I can't give you critism for the game itself but if I'd have to give you some pointers on what you really need to improve, it would be game design, level design, focus and artistic cohesion.

I wanna kill the guy is pretty self explanotary, it's down right a classic and the game has a lot of personality. I personally like to consider the geezer fight to be the final boss.

I dun wanna be anything 2 is a amazing game despite some of its quirks and flaws. There's just a lot of depth to the game and the bosses are all very interesting to learn. Once you do learn them, they can be easily beaten on a second playthrough. You'll find secrets, weapons, upgrades and so much more in this game.

I wanna exit from here is a great game with a few quirks. The game has a lot of references to retro games wich I'm obviously big fan of. You also find different weapons and upgrades here. Just a good solid game.

Not another needle game is a very long and challenging game with no bosses. What stood out for me the most is all the little touches in the game such as dialogue interacting with the player on every floor. The level design is compact and focused, and the music adds a lot to the charm of the game.

I remember seeing this game a long time ago, a friend of mine was testing it on twitch. Had been sort of following its development since then and it eventually released. In this game you'll find good level design, good music and downright some of the most amazing bosses i've seen in any fangames.

Didn't Seph say his engine was bad/he was ashamed of it? Or am I remembering wrong?

Nah I love the Seph Engine. The only thing I could really critisize my engine for is not being new user friendly. FMOD isn't exacly easy to figure out if you're just starting out with game maker.

For GM8/GM8.1 I personally like to reccomend the Nikaple Engine because it has a few new features in there that I like or Lemon Engine for a simple engine that is similar to yuutu.

For GMStudio well there's just not much contest out there at the moment other than the KS Engine, wich is still in beta at the moment. Klazen is working really hard to try and perfect it so that it works exacly or as close as possible to a normal engine.

Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and it's not always pretty. Anyway I couldn't read the whole discussion, there's a lot of words here and I don't think I care that much. But here's my two cents.

1. You can't call someone a moron for voicing his opinion on a game.

2. If you don't agree with someone's review then please feel free to write your own, that's the whole point of delfruit.

Hmm I kinda like it, but that might just be my prince of persia nostalgia talking and the sprite animations are pretty cool too. The controls however are really awkward. In conclusion, it's not terrible but I think I would rather bust out my prince of persia floppy disk instead.

i never thought that control in this game is bad, but it seems im wrong.

tell me detail please so i can fix it better.

Having variable jumping would be good (being able to control the height of your jump when releasing jump button), using shift for jump instead of up and using Z for sword. You could still disable jumping when the sword is out, probably by changing block button to shift when the sword is out.
