Announcements! / Re: Forum Closed

Thank you for making an effort to archive things Kayin. I'd hate to find the forums lost entirely. (Although the static backup is actually a 404 right now.)

It's been a wild ride. IWBTG and the community was actually a pretty significant thing in my life.

Goodbye everyone. I'll miss you...

We had a pretty good run.

I think we're all just ageing and have less time for this kind of thing.

It's nice to read through the pages of dead threads and remember something that was a pretty important part of my life.

That's right. Imageshack and tinypic are no end of trouble. I'll fix it soon for us.

Thank you. It's nice to hear from you all. :)

I'm not starting the new job for another 3 weeks so I don't know how it is yet.
However it's 45 hours a week and about £8 an hour ($13.50) which isn't too bad at all really. It should also improve in 3 to 6 months when I'm no longer considered an intern.
Since I finished 6th form college (that's the school until your 18 if your not from the UK) about half a year ago I've been practicing programming and doing Freelance work. However obviously while freelance work pays better per hour it's pretty unstable and I spent a lot of time looking for more work.
So I'll be glad to have some stable work and it'll be the first time I get to work next to other programmers which I hope will be fun too. ^-^

DetaKK, I'd actually be very interested at doing more work on the Scriptmonkey plugin as I wrote it in javascript and I'll be needing to improve my fairly poor knowledge of that for my new job. What needs fixing? Did stuff break when the forum was upgraded or would you just like me to add some new stuff?

LoLGamer, actually quite a lot of interesting stuff seems to have happened and I've still got another 8 pages of unread topics to catch up on...

Dinfinite, it's nice to hear from you. Oh dear, everything breaks when I'm away. I feel so needed. :P But really, I think I just hosted the mugshot at a cruddy website that probably deleted it after a little while. It looks like the banner at the top in scriptmoney has broken too for much the same reason. Thankfully I have a few of my own servers now that I can use to host things of my own in the future.

Hello all.
I've been away for a little bit (longest I've been before) so I thought I'd make a thread to say hello again.
I didn't mean to be gone for so long but just wanted to spend more time looking for a job and sorting stuff out.
I've been offered and accepted quite a nice job doing computer programming as a Junior Web Designer Intern.
So with any luck in about 3 weeks when I actually start the job I should have a more constant and solid income.
So now I've got things sorted out a bit and don't have that much to do for the next 3 weeks I thought I'm back.

It looks like I've missed a lot and I'm still reading through all the posts I missed.

I've missed you guys. :)

Oh, and when I'm finally up to date with everything here on the forum I have a small present for the forum. Pretty small and pointless but I thought I'd just add a hint here.

Hey. I'm really glad your not in jail. I'm sorry to hear that you've got to do all of that in the next 30 days though. I'm sure it's a big stress.

How is the job search going at the moment? It might be worth applying for more jobs while you're still waiting to hear back from this one just in case you don't get it. Also keep all of your job related work on paper so that you can prove that you're looking for work if you have to. If you can it would be great if you could quit even weed too. Being dependent on someone (even a nice friend) for your drug test isn't a great situation to be in. If your friend does take drugs some time or leaves you in the lurch you'll be kind of up shit creak without a paddle. (Or worse they might not tell you and hardcore drugs could show up in your test.) You can actually freeze clean urine and still be likely to get away with it (provided you warm it to body temperature before using it). Although if you don't freeze it it only last a day or two in the fridge. Still, if you're going to go the route of faking the tests (which I don't recommend) then freezing some as an emergency backup might be wise. Also *always* make sure any samples are body temperature when you give them over. Anyway, from the sound of it you've probably done this kind of thing before so you probably know this stuff. You can also test your friends urine with a home test kit as small amounts of drugs can show up for quite a long time.

Sorry. I'm kind of just fussing over nothing now and I doubt you were looking for advise on faking drug tests. But really, I'm glad for you. That's good news. And I really hope you can stay out of jail and get things sorted.

Quantum Mechanics. I mean, I'm fairly sure that stuff just cannot make sense to anyone. I mean, it's just so quarky. :)

Honestly, beating the guy for the first time without the save before him is insane and incredible. I died probably more times on the Tower of The Guy than anywhere else (or The Guy himself).

Hehe. I really liked this topic (and that image).
I've heard a lot that it ruins friendships although it still sounds pretty fun.
I don't have any consoles to play it on though. :'(

In case anyone is confused this thread is a reference to the game Papers Please.
I've heard of it before but I've not played it yet. Is it worth playing? I've got to say that it doesn't look very fun but I've heard some good things about it?

Yes. I just through I'd join in to say. Neo your music is amazing. :)

Hello. Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
I'm afraid I have no idea what's wrong. Did you fix it in the end and are you still around?
Could you perhaps explain the problem again in details with screenshots as I don't really understand it.
Also if you could provide the gamemaker file that will probably help us help you more.

Finally. Could you supply us with the code in the player object as well as any other possible related objects? (For example the code for the controls).

Thank you. :)

This is pretty amazing. I think they beat both red and crystal now?
I don't think I even got to see them playing crystal at all.
Do we know if they'll ever stop?

So the guy hosting just leaves his computer running 24/7 for weeks at a time?
Hehe. I do that too all the time just so I don't lose the 1100 open tabs I have in Firefox at the moment.
Besides I leave my computer on overnight downloading things and running very slow programs like software updates. Then in the morning the downloads are done and my stuff is updated. :)

Ratchet and Clank games aren't PC games. ;)
IWBTG would probably be either my favourite or very high up in my favourites.
Super Mario World for the SNES is also amazing though (and can be played on an emulator, which still doesn't make it a PC game but I will include it anyway).

Other Games! / Re: osu!

I've played it before. It's pretty fun although I'm not great at it.
I think I was OK at Beat Catcher though and set a few high scores at times. If you get the chance will you check if the Portal Still Alive on beat catcher has my highscore? :)

I'm trying to play less games at the moment though so I think I'll have to pass on this one for now.
