Other Games! / Mario Maker Profiles
« on: December 24, 2015, 03:04:32 pm »
Mario Maker recently updated and launched a website for user profiles so it's easier to share levels. If any of you play it, post your profile here and I might check it out. Here's mine, mostly short kaizo shenanigans.

Fangames! / I Wanna Go the Tower [v0.3]

I Wanna Go the Tower is a puzzle platformer. Or at least this is my attempt at making a puzzle platformer. I don't have much time to work on it right now as I have a full time + a part time job, but I'd like to see what people's opinion on it are so far. If you've played the adventures of lolo or DROD this might look very familiar.

A short troll game I made in a day for the heck of it. Expect a lot of derpy traps. Not much else to say about this one really. I am also working on a bigger project as well at the moment, should be done with it within the coming month or so if everything goes well.

Have fun.

Fangames! / I wanna be the Engine Seph Edition
« on: April 06, 2014, 05:45:56 pm »
This is a engine I made using the Yuutu engine as a base.
I mostly made it for my self, but I would still like to share it with everyone.
This engine requires Game Maker 8.1.

+ External Sound Loader
+ Options Menu
+ Rebindable Controls
+ Clean

This engine assumes you have experience with GameMaker. It provides only the basics. There is no trigger system, no delicious fruits, no reverse gravity, only the base sound effects and the sprites that were needed for the engine. If you're up for it, I did leave some comments in there to help you navigate your way around.

Use the musicFunction script to add music and use the oRoomSwitch object to move between rooms.

So I thought I would release this for people who are new to scripting and coding. I would reccomend that you check out objects and mess around with their scripts and see what can make them do. The protoman boss actually has some comments in there as well if bosses is something you are interested in.

If you don't understand some of the functions and codes, look them up in the GameMaker help manual and proceed from there. Learning by doing is one of the best ways to understand how to code and will help memorising functions. I'm confident this will help someone out there.

Have fun.

This is a pretty short fangame that started out as a test to lemonxreaper's engine. It's mostly a collection of stages that didn't quite make it to I wanna be the 8bit. This fangame focuses a bit more on platforming and less so on gimmicks.

Fangames! / Simple Boss Example
« on: April 13, 2013, 05:39:08 am »
A friend of mine was having a hard time getting started with bosses for his fangame and asked if I could make him a example to get him started.

I made this example really quickly with spare sprites & sound effects that I had lying around and tried to explain how you can use patterns, projectiles and timers to make a simple boss.

I'm sorry in advance for the probably terrible grammar in there and maybe someone will find this useful. I would recommend reading starting from the pattern_01 & missile objects.

General! / Gaiden ACT2. new gimmick?
« on: July 29, 2012, 10:46:24 am »
When you go through ACT1 you have this bionic commando vibe and level design going on, so it's only natural to have the bionic arm. I'm not saying I don't like the bionic arm, but I don't love it either. What I'm wondering is, will ACT2 get rid of the bionic arm and replace it with something else? The key binding in the options does say "shoot 2".

Also sorry if this has already been discussed, I'll delete this post if there is already another one.
