Help! / The Guy

The Guy is giving me alot of trouble :/
Before, I had problems with the 2'nd phase (the giant bullets), but now it's not so hard anymore.
But now, the giant head of the Guy kills me every time. Either his firebawls kill me or the fireball spiral does. How do you avoid the spiral? I know you run, but I can;t seen to run fast enough.
