Suggestions and Bug Reports! / Death not counting

Ever since I got to Mike Tyson, my death count, at 64, won't increase everytime I check it.
I've definitely died 100 times from there to after Mecha Birdo, and it's still at 64.

This is on both slow-mo and frame skip.

Any ideas?
