Game Design! / Should I move on to a different engine?

Well I've been using GameMaker 8.1 for awhile but I think it is time for me to move away from that in start moving to a different engine such as Java or C#. Does anyone thing this would be a better idea than using GameMaker?

I wanted to make it when the player jumps on a curtain spot of the bullet(the top obviously) he will be bounced up with another jump, but also with the edition of if he touches the frontal part of it he will die.

I put the B and U in base unit in parentheses because you can use either letter or both.

It seems that ACTA was passed. Meaning that they track your IPS starting March 1st. We really need to take action, how you ask? By doing this:

In this game you must everyone must choose a "Variable" of what I give them from a list. Randomly or already chosen "Variable", anyone with out the right "Variable" won't get the "Point". The person with the wrong "Variable" will be eliminated. We play until someone wins.
