Crap! / Re: PSP Homebrews
« on: September 30, 2011, 05:29:50 pm »
I'm afraid there's no IWBTG homebrew.
You can however emulate GBA, SNES and NES very well and I recommend you do all of those and put a load of roms onto it.
Other than that you can overclock it to make it about 1.5x faster, however this can be bad for your PSP, or so I hear. I overclocked mine for a bit and it was fine and I've never heard of it doing damage but it's worth remembering that it can, it also drains your battery faster.
Next on the list, you can run programs in the background while you play games, this means you can mute the game's music and play your own (there's also a mini-os style thing you can install to do this), you can also cheat, if you've ever used cheat-engine for the PC, well something basically the same exists for psp. There's no protection against cheating like this even online, so you can really badly break online play. Oh and you can take screenshots and movies which is also cool. If you have enough space on your psp's memory card then you can even put psp iso's on it and play pirated psp games, however mine never had enough space for this.

Anyway, enjoy your modded psp, and make sure you turn off the standard upgrades and only use modded upgrades.

I've been working on my computer theme a little after I realised that I was loosing out on one of the cool things about Linux, it's customisability!
Opinions and improvements please. It's far from finished.

In case you can't tell I'm big on trying to speed up doing things and make all the buttons convenient while trying to maximising screen space. As I've got a widescreen I decided to make use of the wideness to fit another panel in the side and free the top up more for things that have to go horizontally.

I lost at "three Claymores."
In all srsly though, backpacks are fucking annoying, mine had, 5 maths books, a "school diary", a large lined notebook, a pencil case, my calculator, 2L of water, some loose pages, my jumper, about 10cm of 4 year old string, my portable connect-4 board and vast amounts of soft mints, also it always seems like I'm carrying about £5 around with me all in pennies, damn loose change is heavy.

Well as a matter of fact, Venser, I do indeed have a text-only browser, It's called links and it's really damn good. I normal use it when I can't be bothered to let the display "drivers" boot-up or when my video card is breaking.
I tried Chrome the other day (or Chromium to be precise), it's improved a lot since I last used it, it's starting to look really damn good, if it keeps this up I might have to switch from Firefox.
I really like how Chromium allows one tab to crash without the rest going down (In Firefox they all go down although when you reopen it they're back (minus any you don't want, like the one that made it crash), however it's not really quite as good as what Chromium does as the pages are re-loaded so you loose progress in say, a flash game). It maybe "feels" a bit faster too, which is nice. It can go backwards through pages very quickly, this is always helpful. However while I was trying the latest Chromium I started to notice all the ads on pages (which apparently you can block now? But it doesn’t seem to be as good at ABP) and then I went on a flash game and the browser crashed. Oh and one more thing in favour of Chromium is that it does HTML5 REALLY, REALLY well. I mean Firefox lags at anything past a little animation but Chromium is fine with complex games (more or less), this is really cool but not such a big thing yet as nothing really uses HTML5 much. So I'm sticking with Firefox for now, because of the lovely adons and what seems like a higher level of control over everything, however this really could change soon.

Oh and has anyone else tried the very newest Firefox? I've been hearing very good things about it. Apparently it's faster than Chromium again, although it's apparently also unstable as shit.

I'm sure it could at least be a little awkward doing something different to everyone else.
I'm not so sure I agree with you Velocity that it's getting turned into a debate.
It's not so much changing it into a debate simply by explaining why you do something to someone who asks.
It's only if that person has an issue with your explanation that it could turn into a debate.
Atheism can be as much of a way of life as any religion. I'm sure if there were non-catholics there they aren't expected to do the catholic prays etc.

I think you did the right thing? It's what I think I'd have done; the only funerals I've gone to so far have been non-religious though.
I'm not sure I'd like to go to a religious one, they make them so heavily religion based. But I guess if I had a friend die who had a religious funeral though I'd still go to it.
There's not so much you can do, either pray or not pray. I personally think you do best to stick with your own beliefs and not pray simply because of the "peer-pressure".
Also, I'm sorry that your (sort of) friend died. :(

That's strange, Is there a way to set the size of the image to smaller then load it?
It looks like it's getting scaled up.

I'd assume you can make the images outside construct, say in ms paint or something and then import them in.
Never tried though.

I don't think they "ban" it, they just don't supply you with it for free.
You'll still be free to have salt in your packed lunch or from a near shop, or even bring your own salt.

As far as I can tell isn't this mostly just a school thing you should take up with them?
