Crap! / 4chan's /b/...
« on: January 03, 2010, 09:12:23 pm »
...is on the verge of another civil war. For some reason over the past few day's, I have been going to /b/. I'm not entirely sure why, but two things I do know are that crap! is no where NEAR as bad as /b/, and that the anon community is torn over this kid, Luke. I suggest trying our war on /b/ again, while they are distracted, just to see if we could do damage. Or if anyone has any plots to take them down, now's the time to do it.

Totally stolen from /b/. I went there for my 10th time ever today and saw this, and it was actually a cool game. Basically, you post tunes that you think are catchy.

Normal = Don't sing
Hard = Don't whistle
Nightmare = Don't do anything related to the rhythm (i.e. snap or tap foot)

So, I just got this game on the XBL arcade, and it's amazing. It's good, old-fashioned platforming. The controls are amazingly  simple, as are most of the puzzles, but the gameplay can be difficult at times, but never overly so. Then hardcore mode after the first one is pretty good and gives something for people who want harder platformers, like us here at IWBTF. The multiplayer mode is also an entirely new game whether you have 2, 3, or 4 people, with their unique challenges in each. Everyone should get it.

Also, this song pwns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_5fwEUJzK0

General Discussion! / Hey guys.
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:52:01 am »
Hey, I'm in kinda a bad place right now. With the new year here, we have a 9 years of the new millenia behind us, and I realized that in those nine years, everything I work at seems to amount to nothing. My perfect grades up until high school? Nothing, as nothing but high school matters for colleges, and now I'm getting B's and even some C's because I'm sick of it. Building up friendships? Lost almost all my old ones due to moving. My energy into trying to help people and help them think logically? Failed as I can only spread this on the Internet and many people there don't hear reason. Getting a job? Doesn't matter, as all the time my money is taken or disappears. Using up all my time to do well in both school and work, causing me to have no time? A waste from what I've shown above earlier. My time trying to get a girlfriend? Ruined because of other friend compications. Trying to get over my anger at my parents? They keep screwing up because I don't give them enough leeway, as I expect too much.

It was accented tonight by something simple; the DS charger I bought a week ago won't charge my DS, so I couldn't play the new game I just bought. This not working after everything else, something so simple, made me so mad and upset. I just want to know that the rest of my life won't be like this.

I really need to tell this to someone, because I feel as if I'll do something I'll regret if I don't say anything. I'm sorry to drop this here, but I don't know where else to post it. You don't need to read it or reply, I just need to know it's able to be read.

My friends, you are one of the things that has remained constant in my life and probably won't change as I can always reach you through here. Thanks for being so kind to me over this time, and listening to my various grievences.

General Discussion! / Finally Checked Out Cave Story
« on: December 30, 2009, 02:46:55 am »
So, after seeing all of the fuss about Cave Story in the time I've been here, I finally downloaded it. Due to my vast incompetence with computers, it took me about 15 minutes to figure out what to do with a zip file, but now that I am playing it, it's wonderful! It looks like a great game, and I'm going to probably play it for the rest of the night.

This thread is for discussion about the game itself though, and what you liked about it. Maybe if I get stuck somewhere, you guys can help me here. Please put spoilers into spoiler tags. I'll resist them in this thread.

Just some of his vids.

Crap! / So, I just watched Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

..and wow. That was one of the worst, most disappointing films I have EVER seen in my life. They completely raped the book. What the hell.

Don't watch this movie. Ever.

So I just watched this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ydzkVNqumY&feature=related

And I noticed that the theme song quality pretty much went with the season quality. How did this happen? I only recognized 3 of these themes from when I used to watch the show, and 1 of those 3 were bad to begin with. The problem just progressed.

I also noticed that while the first few themes was more focused on Ash's journey and only had friendship as a minor theme, friendship seemed to become the major driving force behind later themes. Basically, the show lost it's way in more ways than one, and it can be seen just by looking at the themes.

Thoughts on this? Has anyone seen later seasons?

Crap! / Machinima

So as you may or may not know, I am one of four leaders of the clan DarkLiteEntertainment. We focus mainly on Machinima and are still fairly small (We have >3,000 subscribers). However, recently we were contacted by Machinima, the website, to try and join them. If we do this, our views may skyrocket, but we may lose our originality and credit seems to...disappear on Machinima's videos. What do you guys think we should do?

General Discussion! / String Theory
« on: November 08, 2009, 03:38:56 am »
For those who don't know the basics, string theory is a relatively new theory that suggests that all matter is made up of vibrating strings, in the form of energy. This would actually be logical, as matter is able to turn into energy, so there is already a connection between the two, and this would state that, ultimately, everything is comprised of pure energy.

The true meaning behind everything in string theory is extraordinarily complicated and to truly understand it, you must know the math behind it. This is what my goal is going to be over the next couple of months (years?). Here is a site that lists what you need to know and some of the ideas for the very basics of string theory.

As you can see (if you look) it is a very time-consuming project for something that may not be necessarily correct. What do you guys think about string theory?

EDIT: I've been reading the basic articles for all of them. I clicked on one advanced article about 1 of the forms of string theory and the first thing a saw was the theory which only allowed bosons to exist, otherwise known as this: . :'(

General Discussion! / Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
« on: November 04, 2009, 06:01:00 pm »
Okay, apparently my little sister somehow found a copy of this game under the T.V. Nobody here is actually sure how it got there, but it works perfectly. As a result, I'm now playing it and it is awesome. This is the first time I have ever played it and I have rarely played any Castlevania games before this (not for lack of trying though) so this is a treat!

Any thoughts or hints anyone wants to give. (Or comments about how it came to be in my house :P)
