Seriously, how the hell am I supposed to get past it? I get to the part before it goes super fast, but when it does, the timing window is virtually impossible to get right.

Tips please?

No it's not. Jump as the spike is going up, you'll fall when it's down and voilá.

There were two ultra fast timing things in Ghosts and Goblins, weren't there?  Ah well.  Yeah, if you don't really know how, first of all listen to the guys that already posted.  If you still don't know, just experiment with different timings.  You'll get the hang of it.  Don't worry, everyone hated that, I'm sure, so you're not the only one!  :D

Okay what i did was wait until the first spike is going down, and jump over it...this is where the precision comes in, you need to jump far enough to be able to take considerable advantage of the space allowed you by the spike as shown below, but not far enough to hit the spike on the far side.

Then you double jump to not get hit by that spike, then you fall with it and then book it to the right...

its the only real strategy there is, but its not very easy to do....it worked for me though.

I always just jump twice into it. I jump to the area to trigger it and just jump past the last part without stopping. It always works for me
