ALPHA 0.5 - I wanna be the ultimate hero - New Alpha 2015/03/20

Special features (I can't believe I call some of them special):

-Map feature (Press M)
-New abilities
-Special music effect after diing
-Plot
-Menu
-Multiple Saveslots
-Configurable controls
-Tutorial
-Game beaten percentage in title screen (can you get 100%?)

Plot:

A year after becoming the guy, The Kid got through many dangerous quests.
The other day the child meets a strange person which seems to be popping out of nowhere
and proposes The Kid an ultimate challenge.

Difficulties:

Medium: The easiest mode: A lot of savepoints
Hard: The mode the game is supposed to be played: Many savepoints
Very hard: A little bit more difficult than hard mode: Only a few savepoints
You want it - you get it: The hardest mode: More Traps, more spikes, most of the time one savepoint per area. Only recommanded for perserving masochists. If you make it you are far better than anyone I've seen so far.

You put way too many cherries in this game floating cherries all over in one room is bad level design, you rehashed the same tileset, there's not much to do in the game so far to be considered an alpha, not much creativity, rehash of music, and it's just yah...needs reworking.

Why pokemon!!!

Anyway yeah so far so good I like it....still obviously need a bit of work.

Heres some things that might improve your game...

-Try to add more tileset (yes its fucking boring but it pays off)
-Avoid the boss sprite thats 3/4 the size of the room
-Try blurring/soften the background so theres a clear distinction unless that intentional
-Try to add gimmick that doesn't involve out of no where shit.....

Theres plenty more ideas but i can't be bother to write them all down bleh.......

Well, I know. The IWBTG area was my first room and I made some garbage there. I already changed a lot (integrate jumps, invisible block mazes, that shit) And didn't you see the green background which means there are trees? (Okay, it's hard too see, but...)

So you haven't found the Pokemon area and the two secret bosses. ^^ That's nice. Just think of where the ways are in IWBTG. (.....I forgot: One way will aboard the game o_o. Sorry for forgetting)

It was the tutorial boss and a target. Needless to say why he was that big (at the first time he didn't even do anything .... like a target)

Before you said that I found the pokemon path the sun things are terrible the timing and the tediousness of making the blocks rise and fall....you say puzzle I say waste of time :/. The pokemon path itself is actually pretty good cept the water physics....are EVIL and nasty as hell the boss itself is pretty good.

That's because I changed the player's physics to make the springs work and let you bounce higher if you fall off a bigger height. Will be fixed. :)

I actually quite liked that part.


You could make the Trampoline Room a bit more challenging, I don´t know, I´m just always rushing through it. Maybe a few unfair spike triggers?


In the Pokemon Section, the odd-colored flower is a little bit strange to get. I don´t know, but I don´t like how you have to time your Double Jump exact. Maybe put a platform somewhere and in change make the jump to the flower a bit harder. That would be nice.

The trick is you can stand here and then the jump is quite simple. (I make it 1 of 3 times) But you're right. It's not fair because the savepoint before is only for medium. I'll have changed it in the next version.

You seriously got rid of the alpha because of copyright? Dude if you say it's not yours and credit the respectful owner sno one will care.

And I didn't get rid of my alpha. I just had to delete the files which were online.

Well my father told me he would change the router configuration so my laptop wouldn't be able to get online anymore. And you don't know my father. He can do it.
But I never said I wouldn't upload any file in the future. Be sure I will. Maybe in a month or so an improved alpha will be online.

How will he know if you have re-uploaded it?

It's really difficult to keep secrets in my family because of my little brothers. Somehow they bump into my room every time I'm working on such projects. And they tell my parents everything what I've done wrong.

And my father could check a list of the router which contains the websites I visit and what was uploaded or downloaded. (I'm sure he won't do. The list is that long. But maybe he'll sometimes do because he said he wouldn't trust me anymore)

Be sure I'll upload another alpha. There are many ways to do so without using my families' router.
