How about a gimmick where you go back and forth between the past and the present, and things you do in the past alter/change stuff in the present? Could make for some interesting puzzles, though I'm not sure if it would work with this kind of game (since lots of stuff resets on death. If it's too much of a hassle then don't worry about it)

I think another cool idea would be a more exploration-based Metroid style world, and you have to collect various power ups and things to be able to progress through the different areas. If you're only taking one idea per person, then I'd choose the Metroid gimmick/theme above my previous suggestion. And if you're feeling cruel you can throw in an escape sequence after the boss too, with no save...lol okay that's not a serious suggestion XD Though an after-boss escape would be cool, I enjoy escape sequences, usually pretty exciting.

...I'm obviously starved for more Metroid (aren't we all?)

Yaaaaayyyy... YuY! Finally this game is back on track ( hopefully ).

Anyways here are some suggestions that you might like:

Magic spikes ( sort of ) - Basically they are invincible spikes that they grow more and more when you are closer to them.
Arcade games - some minigames across the game that once you complete them you get some goodies ( here are some minigames that i though: Geometry dash style minigame, Flying shooter minigame, ect. )

That's all i have for now for now but once i think of something new i will make sure to tell you!  :)

I found a bug in Chapter 5. When you are in the room "Color Code" and you go back to the last room, then you will come to the room "Incoming" and you will fall out of the map.

Can I still suggest gimmicks?
I wanted to suggest a water gimmick. It doesn't give you infinite jump, but it makes your jumps thrice higher.
If you are still gonna add the "infinite jump water", you can give a different color to "higher jump water", make it brighter for example.

Also, I just finished the version 0.52 today. This is, without a doubt, my favorite fangame.

I've been checking this thread every few months for the past four years or so hoping for any signs of an update.

i found a serious bug
once I loaded my save I went through chapter 2 and the save became corrupted
and I stayed in a corner above the tutorial in chapter 1

Hey guys, it's me. The creator guy. I just wanted to let you all know I will be starting this project back up after I have planned everything, which is what I've been doing the past weeks... or months.

I'm here to ask you all what kind of design gimmick or mechanic you think is interesting, or would be interesting to see in this game. I have been taking this whole thing seriously, and I plan on making it a very long game (without losing it's touch of course). I figured I would ask you all for ideas to speed up this whole planning process, because the project is long overdue.

Feel free to suggest anything for the game, I am open to anything. If I like your suggestion and I use it for the game with your permission, needless to say I will properly credit you.

The next version of the game, which will be far from now, will be the final version.



I will list the current ideas I use in version .52

cannons
lasers / laser switches
blue coins / blue door
controllable blue bullet bill
green platforms / yellow platforms
falling platforms (chapter 1)
bullet bill
red bullet bill
normal / reverse gravity
blue / orange jumping blocks
spikes that trigger with jumps
walls that disappear / reappear
P switches


And here's some ideas I just randomly came up with in the past 10 minutes:

push-able walls
rotating lasers or something
different platform movements (circle motion; preset with lines to show the path, etc..)
(jump refreshers/triple jump/conveyor block) *cough* nang
ice physics area, woo!
wind area that pushes you player, similar to the snow mountain area in Jumper 2 (great game)

dont erase the actual game
