Game not saving proberly?

Hey! I made it past the first few screens, just past the Game Over screen, and then the game crashed and I started from the beginning when I started it up? Are you always supposed to start from the beginning even if you saved?

I get to start from my last save point when I die, but not when I restart the game...

nvm I was pressing A instead of shift to load the game ^_^
