Am I the only one who...

...went DOWN on the first screen? Yeah, the beginning cherries really kicked my character's face into the ground, so I opted to learn those spike walls, climb outta the pit, ect ect.
I just defeated my first boss,
Clown Copter, the stupid Dr. Wily form was a pain...
and I've spread the game to a few of my friends, all of who went up and around the cherries at the beginning.
Did I make an odd choice, or did some of you do this as well?
It does seem to be helluvalot harder than dodging those cherries now...

No I went down. I didn't realise there was a path until I went all the way around and got sent back to the beginning at the Palace of the Guy's sort of entrance portal thing. I fought Tyson third!

I went down at the start because I didn't even notice the entrance at the top! Usually on a platformer when you start at a top of a screen you go down (:

As did I. Ah, I remember those innocent warly times of IWTBTG, where I found the path down to the
metroid area
and assumed it was an impossible decoy path made as a joke. As I progressed, I realaized Kayin was far eviller than first expected, and laughed at my former naitivite.
