greetings fellow 2d players.

well, i've like 2d games for a very long time. played all classic games on nes/snes and so on. and now i've finally manage 2 become the guy. so im searching for a new, really hard game like IWBTG. and i've heard that Mushihimesama is really, really hard, and it looks pritty sweet tbh. so i was woundering if you know where 2 download it. or any other fun /hard 2d games =)

Best regardZ

Not available for MAME yet since it ain't at least 5 years old.

It's available for PlayStation 2 but Japan only. If you have a modded system or a Japanese system you can play it.

I imported the game from Japan and modded my system just to play it. Cost me about $80 for the game (high in demand in Japan) and $40 for my mod. (Though still $10 short from what I paid for my copy of Coryoon for the PC Engine ($130+shipping). If you want good gaming you have to pay good money!) It's a great experience. First time I ever played I went on Ultra Mode on Very Hard. :D

Such a kick arse game. Go buy it. Now. It's especially great if you rotate your TV 90 degrees. You can see everything.

Other sweet games made by the same company (Cave):
DonPachi (Arcade, Sega Saturn, PlayStation)*
DoDonPachi (Arcade, Sega Saturn, PlayStation)*
ESPGaluda (Arcade, PlayStation 2)
DoDonPachi Dai-ou-jou (Arcade, PlayStation 2)
DoDonPachi Dai Fukkatsu (Arcade)
Progear (Arcade)*
Dangun Feveron aka SOS Fever (Arcade)*
*Available for MAME.

Then the sequel to Mushihimesama, which is even harder, Mushihimesama Futari, which sadly is Arcade only.

I made some (REALLY CRAPPY) videos of Mushihimesama (because I was less experienced with video making then), back when I still sucked at the game so I died a lot (I can do the true final boss now only dying on the final pattern):

When I finally stepped down to Maniac Mode for my first time, I cried. The first time I fought the final boss, I didn't die once until I had to shoot him two more times. FINAL BOSS... FIRST TRY... :( died at the last second and I'm still kicking myself!!

Anyways, yeah! Mushihimesama rocks! Though I kinda like DoDonPachi more... (not as hard, but still pretty sweet!)

and it doesnt need to be so hard necesserily. I love the megaman X serie on snes. and they arent that hard. so im just looking for a fun game that is available to be played on a pc.

For Nes?

GunNac, Dragon Warrior (lulz RPG), Contra, Link's Adventure, among others I can't name off the top of my head

Duck Hunt. ;)

As far as PC games go, I never was a fan of PC gaming unless we were talking about the good ol' DOS/Windows 3.11 days.

Tyrian = Wicked shmup!
Castle of the Winds Part 1 & 2 = Wicked RPG!
Silpheed = Wicked 3D shmup!

uh... this is hard... the best I can think of are emulators. The Metal Slug series is pretty sweet for MAME. Just be sure to get the Neo Geo BIOS files.

Yeah...

I have Tyrian2000 on my PC right now. :D  Of course, having been Trojan Virused, I can't play it now. :'(

Fixed

How about Bionic Commando
or the original Metroid
Blaster Master
Castlevania III

Do a solo white mage run on Final Fantasy.
