A little video to explain...

So, basically, Tribes: Ascend is a First-Person-Shooter (no, wait, come back!) that banks on the skiing system.

You see, you can turn off friction in that game.

Jet-pack up slopes and ski down hills, and soon you're going fast.  Really fast.  I've played it, and it's very good.  As for the "Free-to-play", everything is unlockable for free, but you can pay to unlock classes.  You can also test the classes (without bots) in the free-roam.

Right now, it's in closed beta, but I have four codes.  Does anybody want them?

I'll take a beta key if you're offering it, I haven't played many new shooters and this one looks nicer than a lot of other stuff.

Hum, I'm not exactly gifted when it comes to shooter-skills, but I'll take one if no one else wants it. If anything I can look at the pretty pictures while dying.

It's very different from what I'm used to. Because this game is so open, I'm often shooting at a very small number of pixels at the screen, as opposed to something like tf2 which is in your face all the time. The skiing/jetpack thing is really cool and easy to get used to, and assumably difficult to master (I've only played a couple of matches so far)

Above all, it's pretty fun.
