To The Non-Bronies
« on: December 25, 2011, 06:33:04 am »

After hearing a good review from two members here, I wanted to share this with you. Really it's for everyone, but I hope that non-bronies take away what I feel from it. I think it's my best chance at explaining exactly what this show did for me and what it means to me. Although not all bronies went through this, I hope that after reading you can understand why some of us are obnoxious about the show. It truly means a lot to some of us and we think it could mean a lot to you too.

Of course, none of you have to read it if you don't want to. I want to share it anyway. Perhaps a bit narcissistic, but I imagine you'll be able to forgive me.

Thanks for living and let live so far, for the most part. Thanks for your love and tolerance.

Have a Merry Christmas, all of you. Never forget that I love you guys.

That is definitely a well-written and beautiful story.
Even though I'm not a fan of MLP, I respect the show & its creator for bringing so much happiness to people.

Stories like this are reminders of the good a show like this can do when brought to light. While the fandom is packed with fanart, fiction and wacky animations and memes, at its core the base material teaches endearing lessons on friendship, but unlike other similar shows it stands out by being entertaining and having characters that viewers can enjoy and relate to.

It touches my heart when I learn of people whose lives were turned around because of a kids show like this. Thanks Silver, and much love to you as well.

I find this hard to swallow. First off why this show? Plenty of other shows teach the same lessons. Second off I feel sorry for someone who needs to watch a show in order to realize the value of friendship. Well I would feel sorry for them in they weren't so annoying most of the time.

Otherwise that is a really well written story and props to the author, just a little bit unbelievable.

Thank you all so much. *Hugs everyone* You're all beautiful.

Author reporting in. Promise you it's one hundred percent true. And you can feel sorry for me if you'd like, but I would say, especially after watching the show, the majority of people in the world do NOT understand friendship. Not its benefits, not what it means, not the love behind it, nothing. When almost all of my IRL friends abandoned me after I shared with them a single problem that I had, while I had been there for them for years, this was cemented in my mind. I think a show like this would do them good.

As for why this show: I have no idea. But this show is obviously special. I'm certainly not the only one it's affected in such a way. It's the highest caliber show I've seen of its kind, but there's something more to it. I can't really tell you what it is though. I've never watched anything in my life that, while watching it, I just start giggling out of pure, pent up joy. It practically happens once an episode with this.

I know these are shitty answers. It's not really something that I can explain. It's part of why we want you to experience it. But I do promise that every in the story is 100% true, even if my dialogue with my IRL brony friend was a bit longer than presented.

Interestingly enough, I think I'm the only one who watches it for entertainment and the cute art animation rather than the friendship lessons.

No you're not Mark, I watch it for those reasons too. The friendship lessons would be nice if they worked IRL, but there are too many fucked up people for them to work like they should.

You are not. There are many like you. Although we don't necessarily like to make the distinction, you, and nono, would be labelled as /co/lts. The original watchers from /co/. The denizens of FiMchan. They do not live by love and tolerance, nor do they take the shows morals to heart. They simply appreciate it for being a very well constructed, adorable show that goes beyond expectations in many ways. They do not adapt their life after it.

And, nono. If you want to change something, sometimes you need to lead by example.
