I'm making fangame called ,,I Wanna Be Friend of Spike And Apple".
I'm doing good for now. This game will be reference to MLP:FiM. :3 I think it will be first fangame 100% referencing to MLP. I'll post my v0.1 of game, when i'll have like 4-5rooms, or a boss.

I agree with the above post.

Also, the music could be changed...it doesn't fit at all.

As for gameplay, I don't know. I've beaten I wanna be the guy gaiden, and have nearly beaten I wanna be the guy, but god damn if that first jump wasn't impossible in yours. I could not even get to the second save point. I guess it could be that I'm used to playing with a controller, but I could not get past that first jump. Granted, I only tried for a couple minutes, but still.

It's really easy.

Now you see that little piece of paper?
Well find that in the control tab and drag it in. Double click on it and then write this:
room_goto(Room2)
with (player) instance_destroy();

I don't normally post here but I'd like to tell you how you can create an object that takes you to multiple rooms with out duplicating the object a billion times,

create a script like the one above above but instead of saying the room name you want to go to call it an unknown variable (just put whatever you feel like basically just make sure nothing's called that) e.g. room_goto(RoomTo)
then place the object in what ever area you want, once that's done hold Ctrl and right click (or just right click if you're using 8.1 like I am) and open the tab "creation code"
then type your unknown variable and make it equal whatever you want it to take the player to.
the code should look something like this.
Code: [Select]
if place_meeting(x,y,player)
     {
     with player
          instance_destroy()
     room_goto(RoomTo)
     }
and your creation code in the room should look like
Code: [Select]
RoomTo = room2

I'm using I Wanna Be The Engine Trial on newest version of GameMaker.

1. I think you need FMOD/supersound.dll for that.
2. Time meter and death meter can be found in YoSniper's engine, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
3. Create event:
Execute code:
if room=room1 {
sprite_index=sprYellowSpike;
}
if room=room2 {
sprite_index=sprBlueSpike;
}

Change the room1 and room2 to the room names. Change sprYellowSpike and sprBlueSpike to the names of the difeerently coloured spikes sprites. For blocks, just use tiles. You can use backgrounds as tilesets.
