STORY RECAP

>You are illustrious lying cuntbag liquidRidicule, A.K.A. Matthew Reubenson, and this is your
Bizarre Adventure

>You were a happy child, raised in the suburbs of Crimson City. Your mother loved you very much, and your father doted upon you.
But alas, not all is well in the urban sprawl of Crimson, where darkness pours out of the statue of Duriel in MacArthur Park, and the mob runs amok.
Ten years ago, Crimson's mafia was a joke. But then, the Boss attacked the police station, accompanied by three mysterious strangers.
Chief Crawford was slain, and from that day forward, it became clear that the mafia had made a deal with some supernatural power--the Shadows.
Your father, Reuben, formed the Secondmen, the civilian guerilla force that continues to fight against the chaos-bolstered crime syndicate.
He left you and your mother several years ago to assassinate the God Hand with his blessed gun, the Freikugel, and save Crimson once and for all.
However, it came to your attention one afternoon that your father had fallen to the God Hand, news delivered by three faceless men in dapper hats.
They gave you a mysterious egg--a final message from your father, commanding you to take up his torch and continue in his crusade.
Taking your pretty (useless) katana, a flimsy wooden shield, and an empty bladder, you cautiously entered the depths of Mr. Sanderz.
Left foot over right foot, you explored the mysterious cave underneath your suburban estate, eventually finding the Mattercave.
It was in that cave that you assumed your birthright. You were no longer liquid... you became liquidRidicule, and were given the power of a god.
You also found a mysterious terminal gauntlet with some strange, esoteric operating system installed upon its hardware. You don't seem to care.
But soft! brave liquid! for shadows sneak to slit your soft skin! Using your new powers, you slip around them and make your escape.
With nothing else to do at home, you follow liquidiculous tradition and depart for IHOP. But consequences would never be the same...

>You arrive, and your waitress is a gorgeous young brunette. You make a joke with your order, but she seems tense, and threatens your life.
Then suddenly, the Mafia strikes! People are gunned down, but you cleverly cause a distraction; your badass waitress defuses the situation.
You vanish into the carpet to gather intel. It turns out that your favorite restaurant was one of the Secondmen's bases.
Resisting the urge to make an army of pancakes, you are sneaky, but are eventually forced into a compromising situation at the feet of the waitress.
You panic, tapping into powers you didn't know you had; as a fluid, you meld with the young woman's mind, an action that has some strange consequences.
It turns out that your waitress is Madeline Crawford, the daughter of the late police chief, and she recognizes you as the son of the legendary Reuben.
Having the residual effects of the Excellent® Mind Meld Technique, the two of you form a fast and solid alliance.

>Madeline had begun to introduce you to two of her colleagues in front of the Crimson City Police Department, and then suddenly, everything went dark.
You woke up in an unknown room inside an unknown building, which has you suspect been tainted with the darkness of the Shadows.
After performing a totally rad stealth kill on your room guard, you found Madeline, who is worried that the building you are inside is the CCPD.
You have both broken out of your prison cells, and are free to explore the tainted police station and get to the bottom of this situation.

>You are equipped with:
>1 Loose-Fitting Robe
>1 Terminal Gauntlet (battery needs charging)
>1 Complete mastery over fluids, ability to turn yourself into a fluid, probably some other liquidiculous powers
>1 Lingering telepathic connection with Madeline Crawford

>Madeline Crawford is equipped with:
>1 Loose-Fitting Robe
>1 Pilfered Police Baton
>1 Wisdom and training beyond her years
>1 Lingering telepathic connection with you

>The inside of the police station glows a deep purple, its walls seeming to warp and shimmer with shadows. There are the two jail cells on this end of the hall. Ahead of you, the hall goes on, terminating in stairs leading to the next floor upward.
>What will you do?

Strike a serious pose and turn to Madeline.

"Madeline! What do you think could be happening here? It's like the CCPD but...dark! What sort of dangers must we steel ourselves for?"

://"Madeline! What do you think could be happening here? It's like the CCPD but...dark! What sort of dangers must we steel ourselves for?"

>"That's a solid question, actually. We never had the chance to brief you on all of this. It sucks that Edwin isn't here, because he's our expert on the Shadows and how to take them down... Shit! I hope Ed and Clarence are okay." Madeline proceeds to explain to you that there will probably be more of those possessed guards, but if you are unfortunate, you will run into a Shadow. The Shadows are tricky to deal with, as they can dispel their corporeal form at will, which grants them a certain resistance to physical attacks. Without the right weapons, you might have to get creative. "We should try to sneak up on any guards we encounter, because if any one of the guards are alerted, it's likely that others will immediately know we've escaped. They've got a hive-mind sort of thing going on with the people they've possessed."

>These are the two cells you and Madeline were being held in. You give them a quick search, but can find nothing else of interest or use.

"What should we do, should we try to find Ed and ask him where we should go and what we should do? There's a lot of questions that I need to ask here and he seems like the best guy to ask them to."

"So, we're probably going to be fighting some shadow-possessed soldiers when we pass that hall up ahead. Got any plans?"

>"I mean, if you're given the opportunity to do so, that might be a good idea. But weren't you telling me earlier that you couldn't possess the guard outside your cell? You said you had to kill him instead, because the Shadows' hold on him was too strong."
