Problem with save

Whenever I hit those save checkpoints, I can restart from there when I hit R. However, when I close the game it reload it, I start from the beginning. It'll show all my stats, time, deaths, and even show the screen I saved on, but I'll just go right back to the beginning. I tried deleting the saves and starting over, deleting it completely and redownload it, and still nothing. Any idea how to fix this?

Your save folder is in the same location as the game is, right?

Yeah, save folder created itself in the same folder and I never moved either.

Are you changing the controls before loading the file? Pressing 'a' on the save selection screen automatically starts a new file, so load the file before changing the controls.
