I switched my fire button to Shift and my jump button to Z. That way, I could alternate between my index and middle finger pressing the Shift key to fire really quickly using either hand. It worked so well I used that configuration for the rest of the game.

On Mother Brain, it mainly just takes a lot of work. Once you've taken out the Zebetites, you should be able to fall into a pattern of dodging and shooting. Just watch out for the turret.

when you enter the 3erd(?) screen theres a turret and if you dont jump it shoots over your head. Felt like pointing that out because i always jumped and dies for the first 2000 deaths.

Some people count the screen after the screen with the SAVE on it as the first screen. I don't, but some do. There are only two screens where the actual fighting is done. Just for those who haven't reached the area and might be a bit confused.

well theres a screen that you can shoot the first barrer out from, bullets travel from screen to screen XD

The boss battle for Mother Brain starts in the screen with the first barrier. The room before it is not a part of the battle. Also, wtf @ the necro.
