I'm wondering if there is anything wrong with my input responses.

I'm currently at the Super Ghosts and Goblins area. I made by the masochist "moving spikes of death" room and made it to the room right above where you have to take a moving platform inbetween two rows of spikes without dying horrible flying cherry and spikey death.

The thing is I can make it through that little area, it's the jumping off that's getting me. It seems that whenever my jump is in falling action, no matter how many times I hammer on Shift The Kid refuses to jumps and instead plummets to the screen below. Now I know this game requires to jump after plummeting to get by a few areas, so I'm wondering if either my game is messing up or the developer put in a middle area of falling where you can't jump just to mess with me.(If so that's a very sick trick.)

You're just jumping too late.

I experienced that quite abit on alot of jumps, there's a very very fine line between your foot and a hole in the ground (I made a funneh!)

Trust me, it'll happen more often than you'd like.

this happened to me quite a few times. it was cause i was jumpng to late. you have to time your jumping..

So what you guys are saying is...instead of jumping off the platform I fall first then waste my double jump? Man I feel like an idiot.

And just so you know, I already ran headlong into that arm several times. The furthest I ever got was in the screen after the one I'm on getting asploded by a certain pit filled with OMGTOOMANY zombies.

Don't worry. On my first playthrough, the Kirby area (perticularly jumping across the spike roller that chases you for a few screens) was a source of many of those jumps for me.

I take a drink and wish you well on your inevitable 50+ pitfalls to come.

If you walk off the moving platform, and then jump, you'll only get one jump. It's easy to accidentally do when you try to jump forward off the moving platform (being that it's so small). I reccomend hitting jump and then left as a precaution, instead of both of them at the same time.

anytime im about to do something important and it has to be a jump i acdentaly go off the platoform and can only do one jump then have to go back a couple screens! :(
