I accept it - I'm not the guy. I'll never be the guy. Not as long as that fucking impossible final form of The Guy stands between me and victory. After 10+ hours of attempting to destroy him, I'm not having fun anymore.
The Kirby segment was fun.
The Tetris room was fun.
The Castlevania segement was fun.
The minecart ride was fun.
Even the GRAVEYARD was fun, I tell you.
But the bosses - nothing but annoyance. Some of them were amusing, yes, but they weren't really fun, they just stood between me and more fun.
But this is it. There's no real reward to be found after The Guy. No more stages of fun. Just an inextraordinarily impossible boss between me and an ending screen.
I didn't play this game to become the guy. I played the game for the fun of it. I had a lot of fun with it, I really did. But now... I'm not having fun anymore. I'm just annoyed at the boss. I just wanted to beat him to prove myself. But I wasn't having fun.
So... I'm quitting. If I'm not having fun, I shouldn't be playing. There's no reward for doing it. I'm not going to feel some sort of immense satisfaction after beating him - I've come so close before the only feeling I'd possibly get after winning would be a sense of relief that it's finally over.
But it IS already over, because I'm not going to play to beat The Guy anymore. There's no point. I don't give a damn about becoming the guy. I only wanted to have fun, and I'm not anymore.
I want to thank you, kayin, for all the joy your game brought me. The platforming sequences were really awesome, and I had a lot of fun with them. But the bosses... no. No. Sorry, I hated them. Every single one of them. They were just an obstacle that had to be overcome for me to experience the rest of the fun the game offered. I honestly think you made a mistake with them. They were not enjoyable in any way.
