Hey again folks.  I just wanted to write that I have gotten the ending done.  I just need to change and add some graphics to it, but all the text is in there, so the tedious typing part is at least over.

Once I do that, I can begin final testing and then get on to the release.

That'd be the end of the demo.  Naturally the final game will have the doors open on both sides and you can proceed.  :)

Dude, this is freaking awesome. I can't wait to play the full game.

This is nuts, because I had this idea literally like a week ago.  I haven't signed on to the forums here in a wicked long time.  I actually made a mockup of the first couple screens of IWBTG with NES palette restrictions, and literally considered learning assembler so I could make it.  Instead, I think I'm going to put an 8-bit section into my MMF spinoff.

Really really awesome work dude.  It's a lot of fun and really well done.  Is there a homebrew NES community that you are a part of that you wouldn't mind linking us to?  Any homebrew ROM's (not hacks) that you would recommend?

Hello, thanks for the interest.  There isn't really a "community".  The closest you'll get is nesdev, although the forums are more about questions and NSF rips.

I'm hoping to have a game version rip of my own NSF sometime.

In reality, the scene is relatively small.  Most games that have been made thus far are generally simple.  If you're interested, you could check http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?cPath=23 to see the games, although not EVERYTHING in there is a homebrew.

My prior three games are featured in 2 carts on that site. Those are the 2 in 1 and Mystic Pillars.

In other news, I am basically done with all content.  I just need to have 3 images put into the ending cutscene...  They only have yet to be drawn.  Then I need a label made, but a guy is doing that.

I didn't get very far in the demo before I put it down, only because I don't want to play too much of it on an emulator before I can get a real cart.  It sounds like you are almost finished.  Any sort of estimated ETA for the cart to show up on retroUSB?  I'm pretty excited about this, so I'm anticipating the release :D

Thx for the info btw.

If I had the images I need, I would finish in probably the very same day of obtaining them.  It's the matter of actually getting the guy to get them made.  The wait for these images was kind of a good thing, as I did refine some other things out of boredom.   :o

I also need the actual label art and have no idea how long that will be.  In the meantime, I'll just evaluate it and possibly make small adjustments.  Not likely many more of those will be needed though.

I've played this a few times and don't give Sivak the intention he deserves because I'm busy all the time and a scatterbrain.

So I just want to say publicly that Sivak is awesome.

IS IT DONE YET IS IT DONE YET

Sorry, but I just can't wait to give you my money for a shiny new NES cart.  Are you putting together a box for it too?  Or just the cart?  I remember seeing a site somewhere that recreated NES boxes, but I can't find it anymore.

Hey again.  I just need one image for the ending cutscene.  That'll be it then for content.

The next phase will be attaining my own prototype cart to test with.  If satisfactory, then we'll be good to go.
