on a side note: if we go for the earlier games...Generation 2 is what I'm looking at, and what has been mentioned by Silver above. I believe it would be A LOT easier (hell, there are most likely tools that won't need any hex editing whatsoever...only the graphics would be severly dumbed)

what's more, there would be 16 gyms, more than enough, the 4 elite four, which we can keep as the mods, Champ/Lance- Kayin

But if it's like that, I demand Red as our Bonus Boss to be something totally unexpected (not the Guy, not Kayin, not one of us)

and definitely too steep, I've played Touhoumon Lunatic Edition enough to know that >.<
as for Pokemon, obviously there's too many no matter what we choose and will basically be left as defaults except for 20-30 or so. And only a few moves changed (EQ = chance train?). Eck, still no real information. All I can say is don't get your hopes up too high yet...looking through some stuff, there are definitely sufficient enough tools for Gen 1-3

That Miltank was THE hardest fight in the game imo.
I don't know why everyone is like that...so the game throws in ONE basic strategy and suddenly it's the hardest fight in the game...guess near the end everyone is just far too over-leveled/over-prepared to notice stuff like Venasaur's Sunny Day & Solarbeam (or it just backfired too often with fire...then again, I had the tendency to ditch my starter, no Typhlosion for me). The way I play it with the curve against me, the game gets harder and harder as the enemies levels increase faster than my own, having to use a team of 40s and a few 50s against Blue, Red was pretty much the nightmare I screwed myself into.

Personally, I found Red to be the hardest fight in the game (due to the level curve, if you're still in the 50s, you're basically in for a fight so hard it's virtually impossible). Basically what happens if you decided to play the game and go "well...FUCK YOU LEVEL GRINDING, the trainers shall provide all the EXP I need!"

Works all the way up to Red, yeah, that 20 level jump becomes a huge "F U" at the end.

Then again, back on topic, I plan on expanding that F U just to be an ass, make the Kanto Trainers harder, everything up to the Elite Four is already alright level curve wise, it's just Kanto didn't really do much to prepare you for the REALLY difficult stuff. Kanto just sort of froze the curve, at level 50 for everything and the gym leaders. Then you'd get to Blue who'd have stuff 10 levels higher, Red 20 more than THAT. Still considering how I should change this...

Miltank was hard because when I played the game as a kid, I'd ONLY use my starter (Cyndaquil, btw so it's super effective), so rollout raped me. Probably my fault, but all the other trainers were easy in comparison. (Exept Clair, but you have a legendary by then)

My favorite times in R/Y/B included using only a level 100 Butterfree for everything, and beating the champ's last pokemon with a level 74 metapod (used harden to outlast his moves). It is fun to dick around. :)

I remember my Jiggly only run of blue version. Level 86 Jigglypuff Vs Mewtwo was epic.

Honestly, I would like to see a difficulty that gave you a run for your money (Quite literally). I don't mean first time through IWBTG kind of pokemon hack, but something difficult enough to say that you have to be a damn veteran of the series to beat it.
