So far I've beaten 3 bosses and am on mother brain (on medium, so sue me)

I really haven't gotten anywhere, so you know that's not why I'm posting here.

Now, I told my friend about IWBTG, and he said he's gotta play it. He thought it wouldn't be that bad.
How wrong he was.

Gotta say, though, he's doing great. Through an extension of Skype that uses screen sharing, I've been helping him out a bit. I've watched a good plenty of let's plays and will give him cryptic hints to what hes doing wrong. By cryptic, I mean it'll still take him 5 minutes before he's even on the right track.

He's taking a break now. Has been all summer for the most part. But he deserves it. Mother Brain is the final thing stopping him. even with knowing how to beat her, we had quite a few 3 hour sessions with no success.

Perhaps the most saddening parts of his play through was when he had beaten Dracula after about 30 or so tries, and forgot to save before suiciding. It took him around 60 more to do it again.

We'll probably be at it again soon. Hell, I might record it.

Current location:Building of The Guy (the building in front of the castle. I refer to it as this.) (Pretty damn far in the game. Phase three, beat all the bosses that are needed to get into the Castle of The Guy.)

I just beat Mecha-Birdo tonight, much faster than I expected. It helps with the second form if you focus a bit more on getting from egg to egg rather than worrying about the lasers.

However, the point three screens after that is where I really get frustrated-the second screen with Bionic Commando music, and the first one you see those floating turrets. I kill the first one with ease, and drop down to take out the second one only for the bloody spike to shoot out and splatter The Kid when I least expect it.

I tried waiting until he fell all the way down before jumping up. Too late. I tried using the mid-air jump about halfway down-too early, and I couldn't get back on the ledge, leaving The Kid to plummet to a spike-slamming hell. I guess I have to use my mid-air jump around the time his feet are roughly the same altitude as the top of the spike.

Yay, my first post on the IWBTG forums! I got the game for the first time on Thursday night, so I've had it for a little less than 4 days now, though I've only been seriously playing for 2 of them. I took the bottom path first, skipped Metroid, as I didn't know it existed at the time, beat KKK (day 1), took the top path, beat Mike Tyson and Mecha-birdo(day 2), and then pushed through Castlevania to beat Dracula before I went to bed last night. On Hard v_v no idea how many deaths I have, as I'm posting from work on my lunch break.

My brother is playing as well, though he's playing on Wuss mode, because he is a wuss ^_^ He's on Kraidgief, if anyone actually cares how far someone got on Medium... I sure don't. He's been busy playing Spore lately, so I expect that I'll pass him up in short order.

In closing, I would like to congratulate the creators on making a game that has made me curse and scream and declare instances of shenanigans than every other game I've played put together. You've accomplished something that I would never have expected of anything, and that's something to be proud of. I salute you.

Currently after the minecart (literally, very fun), fighting Dragon Devil. Not that bad, but I always die running from him. Damn robot.
