IWBTG: Revsion B2 (test)
« on: February 03, 2008, 06:36:29 am »

For all you who have save problems with birdo (or elsewhere), please try this new build. Hell, anyone feel free to try it.

Granted I fixed some old code that I don't remember ENTIRELY how it works. So I could of changed something that causes some horrible weird save/load things or wreck bossrush or whatever.

I did some quick 5:00 AM testing, but need you guys to make sure nothings horridly off. This ONLY fixes the save system (.. and some tiling on the 6th hidden item, but no ones gotten there anyways). If you find any other bugs, report them in the 1.0.0 thread unless you have CONCLUSIVE proof otherwise (tested and recreatable in both versions). If this works fine, I'll propogate it as the latest version.

Note: It's still uploading. I wouldn't download it until 6AM, EST. I'd probably wait till 6:10 to be sure. Though you should all be ASLEEP. Like I'm going to be in a moment.

http://kayin.pyoko.org/iwbtgbeta-A2(fs).exe is up! Please test it!

http://kayin.pyoko.org/iwbtgbeta-B2(SM).exe is where it's at! Saves should work and you should be able to get to the Kirby item!

This version fixed my Birdo problem.

However, it introduced a new issue. The teleport after the fan room doesn't work anymore. It throws you back to the exact same spot.

I opened my latest save with the previous version and had no problems with this.

Alright, looks like we need a Revision B. But at least it's almost there.

I found a glitch with the Revision A2. Whenever I try to start a new game in any mode, I start right at the Legend of Zelda part. I tried this with the first Revision A and I started in the normal location.

Horrible oversight on my part. I moved the start location for testing. Reuploading (though it'll still be called A2)

Posted this in the save file thread, but I figure it's more pertinent here - This won't run at all for me. "Window Initialization Error". Other versions work fine, so I don't know what's up.

Found a bug

After I beat dracula, I proceeded to the entrance to The Guy's Palace but I still have to beat the other 3 bosses, so I took the warp back to the beginning but it didn't take me to the start, it took me back to where I last saved before Dracula, so I had to die and fight Dracula again -_-

I killed Dracula again and I made sure to save after. The warp seems to take you to where the game last saves because after I saved at the Guy's Palace, I took the warp to the beginning but it took me back to the front of Guy's Palace. This bug is in the Revision A2 game since I used the previous version and it successfully took me back to the first screen.

Try downloaidsng it now that it's actually uploaded.

Also try this Mario. I can't recreate it on my end. If it still hppens, please attach your save so I can try it out.

That's really weird. I have the new A2 version in a fresh directory, and copied the same save that I uploaded into the folder, and it gives me the same problem I've been having. Is there any way I could get you to re-save or something, and upload that for me? You've been a really big help, thanks.
