certain object and how do i make a animation appear when you get killed by a certain object.
I make it sound complex but most good iwbtg fangames do it.
Im using GM-pro btw

duplivate save script and instead of bloodemitter, make the animation and a different sound

another reason i asked to make this topic is how do i put fla files onto game maker?

lrn2GameMaker is just something everyone made up to mean "Learn to GameMaker" or "Learn to use GameMaker", he was just saying that you should learn to use the program before you try and use it to avoid stupid questions.

Actually you should use MMF2.

It's the simplest and most powerful game making software I've used. (and before you guys say anything yes I have tried GM before.)

Most likely, and yes MMF2 is easy to use.

It's got very simple coding, and unless you've got a lot in your game already it shouldn't take to long.

Actually if you have MSN, or Skype (especially Skype) then I could help you out.

ok, i'll make this simple.

1) there's a script called "killPlayer". Duplicate that script.

2) rename that script something else, like "killPlayerotheranim".

3) go inside of the script and see where it says "instance_create(bloodemitter,x,y)" change this to something like "instance_create(animation2,x,y)"

4) make an object called "animation2" with the animation you want. make an event "animation end" and make it do "instance_destroy()"

5) go back to the script and see where it says "sound_play(sndOnDeath)" make a new sound and put the title of that sound here, so it will say "sound_play(//your sound here)"

6) make another object that is called "parentotheranim" have a collision with player event and make it do "killPlayerotheranim()"

7) go to the object that you want to have do this stuff. set it's parent to "parentotheranim"

8) your done! test it out.
