The Running Game v1
« on: September 20, 2013, 07:21:10 pm »

A text-based running adventure. Thought you couldn't run a marathon? Think again. Train, and watch yourself get better, until you finally embark on the ultimate run.

I want to eventually add the ability to save.

It actually looks pretty cool.
What's it made in? C++ maybe?
I'd be interested to see the code.
You seem to have coded each level number in separately rather than outputting a variable?
Also you can turn optimizations on in mingw to reduce the filesize and make it run faster. At 1MB it's not really worth it here but it's still interesting to learn if you've never done it before.

I've got to admit I didn't actually finish it. I'll finish it tomorrow as I've got to go sleep now.
Goodnight and nice job on the game.

Wow I didn't see your response to today. It was programmed in C++. It was mostly just a project to help me get used to OOP in C++ (Which I hate.) that got bigger than expected. It uses classes even though it doesn't really need to. I originally stayed up until like 1 am writing the same 10 lines over and over again for each level. I probably could have just made it a loop, but I felt like such a programmer writing over 500 lines of code. I'll include the source code tomorrow.

Also, it's fine if you never finished it, lol. I probably should have added a way to save/load data, but oh well.

Well checked it out just for lols, got Level 13, so 13 miles, yay Half Marathon! I only had to run 10,000 miles to do it! Then I tried typing in something to different and the game closed. Think I'll literally have a better chance of making it in real life than lasting in this game. Anyway, very simple but still fun for a bit.

This is really fun if you make it to the last. The game keeps you intact.
