Worst game crash for you

What is the absolute worst time the game crashed for you?  It could be at the end of a REALLY hard area or something similar.  Mine was probably at the end of the Ghosts and Goblins section just as I was making that ledge fall sideways.  I almost broke my keyboard.

a while ago wine couldn't properly run the game so every time I beat the guy it would crash, and I ended up beating him like 3 times to see if it happened every time. It was before I figured out about

Mother 3

When it said "END?" And you're supposed to just walk around. Directional keys did nothing as the emulator crashed.

Soon after the CPU itself crashed and I lost everything on that CPU. I guess you could say I was THAT close to beating Mother 3.
